Václav Klemens

As a long-standing artistic director and educator, Václav Klemens is a pillar of the Czech theatrical scene, where he shapes both the face of major theatres and the next generation of talent with his signature precision. A directing graduate of DAMU in Prague, he has focused much of his career on the Moravian-Silesian region. He has served as a director and artistic head for ensembles in Olomouc and Opava, and most notably at Ostrava's Petr Bezruč Theatre, Puppet Theatre, and Theatre Mír. Václav Klemens is a versatile director—ranging from profound psychological dramas to the playful world of puppetry. Beyond his work as a director, he also leads the Music and Drama Department at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava.
