
Irena Kristeková
Irena Kristeková is a Czech stage, film, and television actress, singer, and a prominent figure in physical theatre. A graduate of the Prague Conservatory, she spent six years as a company member at the Činoherní studio in Ústí nad Labem. She then went freelance, collaborating with the Švanda Theatre, Divadlo v Celetné, Spitfire Company, and Theatre Letí. Music lovers know her as the lead singer of the jazz/pop formation Iris ne-jde s davem. A seminal milestone in her career is the autobiographical production IRIS from the INVISIBLE series, which she co-created with the established director, performer, dancer, and writer Miřenka Čechová under the TANTEHORSE banner. For this performance, she was nominated for a Thalia Award, won the Divadelní noviny Award for "Actress of the Year Regardless of Genre," and topped the i-divadlo poll for Best Female Acting Performance and Best Production of 2023. She has also appeared in the TV series Expozitura and the Czech Television documentary The Endless Journey of Josef Čapek (Nekonečná pouť Josefa Čapka).
