Marek Pavlíček

Marek Pavlíček is an opera singer and dramaturg who significantly shapes the landscape of musical theatre. He studied singing at the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU). A major part of his professional career is connected to the South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice, where he serves as the opera dramaturg while also performing as a tenor. He has applied his dramaturgical and vocal talents to key projects on the České Budějovice stage, including the staged production of Handel's oratorio Messiah, as well as the productions Higher Power (Vyšší moc) and Slavonic Dances (Slovanské tance). As a guest performer and dramaturg, he collaborates with other Czech theatres and ensembles specializing in historically informed performance and oratorio repertoire.
